Viola B. Lindenmuth

Viola Blanch Lindenmuth, 93, of Cumru Township, passed away June 17, 2017. Viola was the beloved wife of the late Ray F. Lindenmuth.

Born in Kempton, PA, Viola was the daughter of the late William and Mary Agnes Knepper. She proudly served in the United States Marine Corp 1941 – 1944 and was stationed at Camp Lejeune NC. Her nickname "Skipper" was given to by her good friends enlisted piers who remained with her in memories to her final days.

Viola had a passion for jewelry and fashion. After the war, she began her working career as a buyer for up-scale jewelry stores in the Reading area such as Mumma's, a city landmark. She later set her sights on the fashion industry and became a District Sales Manager for the Learner Shops, a ladies clothing ready to wear store. She traveled and started up new stores for the company on the east coast - she was a role model and trend setter for women!

Viola retired early to spend time with family and daughter Maria. With Viola's achievements, she became the inspiration and supported Maria in businesses such as retail sales, Heel and Toe shoe store, Dutch Deli Market Stand, The FoodWorks (a downtown restaurant from the 1970s to the 1990s) and Celebrated Occasions (up scaled catering and party planning services).

Viola is survived by her daughter, Maria L. wife of Dennis P. DiCecco, Mohnton. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Marian wife of Norman Kahl; brother-in-law, Stewart, husband of Joan Lindenmuth and numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 9:30 am to 10:00 a.m. Services will begin at 10:00 a.m.
