Vincentine R. "Babs" McDonough, 93, of Exton, formerly of Sinking Spring as well as New Port Richey, FL, died August 28, 2009 in Sunrise Senior Living, Exton.
Her husband, Joseph T. McDonough, passed away July 1980.
Born in Chester, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Vincentine (Poplawski) Babicki.
Vincentine was a U.S. Veteran, serving in WWII.
She worked as a secretary for the Delaware County Daily & Sunday Times and later, in the same capacity, for Two Guys, Shillington.
Vincentine was a former member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and Rosary Altar Society; Women's Army Air Force Auxiliary, NYC; Catholic Daughters of America; and a past president of St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her sisters: Rose Sfirri, Media and V. Theresa Ruzowicz, Reading and her twenty four nieces and nephews. Her niece, Deborah, wife of William Birks, and their children: Billy and Caitlin were a special part of her extended family.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Casimir, Joseph, Aloysius, Walter and Ignatius Babicki as well as Regina McLaughlin and Hedwig Karpinski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Catharine of Siena Chapel, Mt. Penn. Friends may call Thursday 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Hospice Compassus: 653 W. Skippack Pike, Ste. 12A Blue Bell, PA 19422.
