Vincent J. Naso Jr.

Vincent J. Naso, Jr., of Reading, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on August 7, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on October 6, 1939, in Easton, Pennsylvania, Vincent was the son of the late Vincent J. Naso, Sr. and Carrie Todaro Naso. He graduated from Reading Central Catholic High School in 1957 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame in 1961 - an achievement he pursued with determination, becoming the first in his family to attend college.

Following graduation, Vincent proudly served his country in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Second Lieutenant. His time in the military shaped his discipline, leadership, and lifelong love of service. He often shared stories from his Army days, recounting them with pride, humor, and affection.

On January 19, 1965, Vincent married the love of his life, Geraldine "Gerry" A. Tacyn, beginning a marriage that spanned 61 years. Their partnership was one of unwavering devotion - a bond rooted in faith, family, and shared purpose. Gerry was his constant companion, his greatest supporter, and the heart of their home. Together, they built a life defined by commitment, generosity, and deep love.

Vincent was a devoted father to his three children: Mark J. Naso (Gretchen), Christopher J. Naso (Lisa), and Susanne M. Naso Johnson (John)

He was a cherished grandfather to Jack V. Naso, Aubrey J. Naso, Lauren A. Naso, and Cole M. Naso, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy. His pride in his grandchildren was unmistakable - he celebrated their accomplishments, encouraged their dreams, and delighted in every moment spent with them.

In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Vincent is survived by his siblings Jo Marie Buzzanca (Naso), Robert Naso, and Barbara Yusella (Naso). He was preceded in death by his parents and other beloved family members who went before him.

After completing his military service, Vincent returned home and joined his father at Osan Manufacturing, Inc. in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. Over the next six decades, he built and led a successful American manufacturing company producing clothing and American flags. At its height, Osan employed more than 300 people - a workforce Vincent treated with respect, compassion, and fairness. His leadership was marked by integrity, loyalty, and a deep sense of responsibility to his employees and community.

Vincent's determination was evident from a young age. Growing up in the 1950s, college was a luxury, yet he convinced his parents of his dream to attend Notre Dame and subsidized his tuition through the University's ROTC program. His success became the foundation of a long and beloved family legacy of Notre Dame pride - some by degree, others by association, but all inspired by his example.

His commitment to service extended far beyond his business. Vincent was a dedicated Catholic and a lifelong supporter of Catholic education. He served as a Eucharistic Minister and supported numerous Catholic charities. In his 40s, he became Chairman of the Board of St. Joseph's Hospital, where his leadership helped strengthen the hospital's position in the community. One of his proudest accomplishments was helping bring one of the first Da Vinci surgical systems to Berks County.

Vincent was deeply involved at St. Catharine of Siena Parish, where he chaired the capital campaign that led to the construction of the parish's new church, dedicated in 1995. He later served on the parish finance committee and continued his commitment to Catholic education as a Board member of Berks Catholic High School.

A loyal member of the Notre Dame Club of Reading, Vincent never missed an opportunity to talk Notre Dame football. He was a proud Fighting Irish fan, and his enthusiasm was infectious.

Above all, Vincent treasured time with his family. He had a well-known love of fine dining and was always ready to gather around a good table with the people he loved most. His legacy - rooted in faith, family, love of country, and Notre Dame - will live on in all who knew him.

A viewing will be held from 9:30 am - 11:00 am on Saturday, August 15, 20026, at St. Catharine of Siena Church, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Entombment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Catharine of Siena Church, in Vincent's memory.
