Victoria Mary (Barelski) Peskosky, 84, of Muhlenberg Township, died the morning of September 2, 2009 in the emergency room of St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township.

She was the wife of Anthony Joseph Peskosky, whom she married June 28, 1947.

Born December 10, 1924 in Simpson, Lackawanna County, she was the daughter of Michael and Nellie Hedwig (Marat) Barelski.

Victoria was a 1941 graduate of Fell Township High School, Simpson, PA. She also graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Carbondale, PA.

She was employed as a Registered Nurse for St. Agnes Hospital, White Plains, NY and subsequently moving to Berks County, was employed by St. Joseph Medical Center, Community General Hospital and Berks Heim, retiring in 1987. She also served in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II.

Victoria enjoyed cooking and baking as well as spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family meant the world to her.

She was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara A. (Peskosky) wife of James M. Pizzo of Muhlenberg Township and Theresa A. (Peskosky), wife of David Herbein of York, ME and two sons, Michael A., husband of Karyn K. (Kunkel) Peskosky of Charlotte, NC and Stephen Peskosky of Shanghai, China, fiance of Tammy Koch of Reading.

Other survivors include twelve grandchildren: Michael J., husband of Sherry Pizzo; Melissa J. (Pizzo), wife of Todd Fuoco; Matthew J., husband of Heather Pizzo; Mark J., husband of Sheila Pizzo; Cynthia (Herbein), wife of Bryan Schaeffer; Christina Herbein; Patricia Herbein; Daniel Herbein; Joshua Herbein; Stefanie L. Peskosky; Nicholas J. Peskosky and Veronica M. Peskosky.

There are also six great-grandchildren and one step-great grandson.

Victoria was predeceased by a brother John Barelski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Hyde Park. Viewings will be held Monday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9-9:30 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Burial will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum.
