Victoria (Lisa) Azzarello, a beloved wife, mother and friend passed away peacefully at her home in West Reading on August 16, 2024, at the age of 85. She was the wife of the late Salvatore Azzarello, who passed away on December 24, 2020.
Born on November 7, 1938 in Venetico Marina, Sicily, Italy, and grew up with a passion for family. She immigrated to the United States in 1953 with her father. She went on to become a naturalized citizen and a seamstress. She worked at Berkshire Knitting Mills and several boutiques, most recently at Jan Rae. In 1958, she returned to her hometown, where she married her beloved late husband, Salvatore Azzarello, who eventually joined her in the States. Together, they raised a beautiful family of 3 children, and eventually seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Victoria was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her kind heart, warm smile, and delicious meals, as she was an excellent cook. She was a true friend to many, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Victoria is survived by her children: Esther Weidle, and her spouse Brian, Verna Azzarello, and her companion Rick Balaster, and Anthony Azzarello, and his wife, Melissa; her grandchildren: Laura Kreloff, Amanda Mosqueda, Anthony Russo, Nicholas Azzarello, Michael Azzarello, Marina Azzarello, Andrew Hoover; her five siblings: Grazia Rozzi, Joe Lisa, Rosa Waltrich, and Nicolina Farina; as well as her extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother, John Lisa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church 237 Franklin St, Reading, PA 19602 with entombment to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading 19611.
Memorial donations in Victoria's honor may be made to Reading Hospital Foundation, PO Box 16052, Reading PA 19612. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thank you to the Tower Health Hospice team for their care and compassion for Victoria.
