Victor Ciervo

Victor Ciervo, 93, formerly of West Reading, died September 5, 2014, in Reading Hospital.

His wife, Helen T. (Cunningham) Ciervo, died on April 3, 2013.

Born in Naples, Italy, he was a son of the late Donato and Carmella (Pacelli) Ciervo.

He was a 1941 graduate of West Reading High School.

Victor was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict.

He was employed as a lineman by Met Ed for many years.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

He was past secretary and treasurer of the Italian American Club of West Reading and member of the Young Republican Club of Wyomissing.

Victor was an avid golfer. He enjoyed vacationing at the Jersey shore and Florida.

He loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Victor is survived by two daughters, Patricia A., wife of Daniel DeCarlo, Wyomissing and Bonnie T., wife of Kevin Shirk, Mohnton; two brothers, Albert, Kenhorst and Daniel, West Reading; two sisters, Angie, wife of Jack Bennett, Sinking Spring and Mickey, widower of Stanley Stankiewicz, West Reading.

He is also survived by six grandchildren: Daniel DeCarlo, Valerie Smith, Frank DeCarlo, Jodi Mears, Melissa Shirk and Stacey Shirk and five great-grandchildren: Ava Smith, Gianna Smith, Rocco DeCarlo, Emilio DeCarlo and Isabella Farina.

Victor was predeceased by his brother, John Ciervo, three sisters, Anna Adams, Gloria Schwartz and Fannie Fantini.

Prayer Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
