Vernon F. Dillman

Vernon F. Dillman, Jr. 69, of Mohrsville passed away in his home Saturday, March 19th, surrounded by his beloved wife and family after a brief illness. Vernon was born in Pottsville, June 10, 1946. He was the son of the late Vernon F., Sr. and Caroline S. (Faust) Dillman. He was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School and retired from Omnova Solutions in Auburn. Vernon was a member of St. John's Church, Port Clinton. Vernon was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He loved hunting with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved his German wirehaired pointer dogs, the breed he owned since 1982. Surviving are his loving wife of 34 years, Beverly A. Kerst, two sons, Vernon F. Dillman, III, Auburn, David A. Hamerly, Mohrsville and two daughters, Catherine Bensinger, and Carol wife of Mark Lopez both of Schuylkill Haven. Additional survivors include a brother, Brian Dillman, Orwigsburg, stepmother, Adella Dillman, Orwigsburg, seven grandchildren Matthew and Maria Lopez, Jessica Higo, Riley Hamerly, Jennifer and Janel Bensinger and Allyssa Thomas, and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two stepbrothers, Gary and Anthony Mangine and two stepsisters, Sharon Ball and Christine Salaki and several nieces, nephews and cousins. brothers, George R. Dillman, August 21, 2004 and Scott F. Dillman, April 27, 1982 and an infant sister, Linda who died June 14, 1962, predeceased him. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S. 4th Street, Hamburg, PA. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening 6:30 to 8:00 PM and Thursday 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Port Clinton Cemetery.
