Verna M. Levan

Verna M. (Bieber) Levan, 92, formerly of 3219 Marion Street, Laureldale, died November 20th at 12:40 p.m. in Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville where she had been since 11/8/2002. She was taken there from Holy Family Residence, Orwigsburg, where she had been since September.

She was the widow of William E. Levan (Died November 30, 1986).

Born in Oley Township, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Lewis B. and Clara S. (Moyer) Bieber.

She was a 1928 graduate of Reading High School.

Levan was employed as a Secretary for the former E. Schulze & Sons of Reading for 40 years, retiring in 1969.

She is survived by a sister, Catherine (Bieber) widow of Herbert B. Mobley of Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County.

Services will be Monday at 11:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Viewing 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Alsace Cemetery, Hyde Park. Contributions may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 1009 Elizabeth Ave., Laureldale, Pa 19605.
