Verna S. Folk, 92 of Hamburg, Shoemakersville and last living at Hearthstone Manor, Blandon for two years died February 15, 2015 in St. Joseph's Hospital. Verna's husband, Carl L. Folk died October 9, 1972. She was born in Windsor Township and was the daughter of the late Isaac D. and Stella J. (Dreibelbis) Schappell. Verna was a 1939 graduate of Perry High School and a long time member of Zion's Church, Windsor Castle. She worked as a clerk for Miller's 5 & 10 for several years retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Virginville Fire Company and auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Shoemakersville Fire Company. Two sons. Ronnie C. husband of Lynn Folk, Upper Bern Township, Steven G. husband of Helen Folk, Durango, Colorado, and one daughter, Carol A. wife of Dennis Herber, Shoemakersville, survive Verna. Seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive her. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from Zion's Church, 770 Zion's Church Road, Windsor Castle, Hamburg, PA. 19526. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.
