Velma M. Weidner

Velma Marie (Tobias) Weidner, 83, of Millsboro, Delaware and formerly of Laureldale, PA, died August 6, 2007 at 4:15 am in the Green Valley Terrace Nursing Home, Millsboro, Del., where she had been a resident for the last 3 1/2 years.

She was the widow of Marvin S. Weidner, who died January 24, 2005.

Born July 17, 1924 in Reading, PA, she was a daughter of the late Edward I. and Esta Mae Tobias.

She was a former member of Schwarzwald Lutheran Church, Exeter Township.

Velma is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (Gerhart), wife of Jay R. Schmitt Jr., of Ocean View, Del.

Other survivors include a sister, Ruth (Tobias) Clouser of Laureldale.

There are also two grandchildren, Jay R. Schmitt III, of Gettysburg, PA and Stacy K. Schmitt of Ocean View, Delaware. She was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers.

Services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with the Rev. Amy J. Godshall-Miller officiating.
