Velia Biagianti

Velia Biagianti, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Reading Hospital.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Amelia (Drovandini) Biagianti. Velia was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was a seamstress by trade, a member of the Garment Workers' Union and retiree from Skyline Sportswear. However, retirement did not slow her down. Velia worked well into her 80s as head chef at the Spartaco Society from 1984 until 2015, where her recipes were coveted. She enjoyed shopping, luncheons with family and friends, playing bingo and daily word searches through her last days. One of her most cherished and proud roles was being an Aunt.

Her memory will be cherished by sister, Lydia Biagianti-Griffith and brother, John Biagianti, both of Reading; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be sadly missed.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Angelo and Elio Biagianti; and sister, Gloria Biagianti-Contsicos.

A viewing will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 am on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Avenue West Reading, PA 19611. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 237 Franklin St. Reading, PA 19602 followed by burial at Gethsemane Cemetery in Laureldale.
