Vasileah Fotis

Vasileah (Bess) Fotis, 86, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away Friday, January 14, 2011.

She was the beloved wife of Peter F. Fotis, who predeceased her. They had been married 56 years.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Socrates and Androniki (Lambros) Georgeadis.

Vasileah was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church.

Bess will be remembered as a voracious reader of mystery books. She also touched many people with her phone calls and the numerous cards she sent in her beautiful handwriting.

She is survived by her son, Fred P., husband of Lynn (Karambelas) Fotis, and her daughter, Maria T., wife of Russell Rose of Sinking Spring. Also surviving is her brother, James, husband of Christine Georgeadis; her sister, Sadie, widow of George Patton; two grandsons and one great-grandchild.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 East Wyomissing Boulevard, Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the church.
