Timothy "Tim" R. Kunkelman, 64, passed away August 22, 2017, after a brief battle with cancer, in his Muhlenberg Twp. residence in the arms of his loving wife.
He was the beloved husband of Karen M. (Lash) Kunkelman with whom he celebrated 38 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Ralph Kunkelman and June (Wengert) Kunkelman, Reading.
Tim was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School and PACE Institute, where he received an Associates in P.C. Science.
He was employed by GAI-Tronics as a Senior Software Engineer, for over 20 years. He was also an instructor at PACE Institute.
Tim was an avid baseball fan. He enjoyed Blues and Rock & Roll, especially the likes of B.B. King, Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones. He also enjoyed playing in his band during his high school years. Tim's hardy, infectious laugh and lovable smile made a lasting impression on all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is also survived by his two sons, Tim Kunkelman and Brian Kunkelman. He is also survived by his two sisters, Diane, wife of Dave Wahl, Glendale, AZ; and Beth Reed, Shillington; mother-in-law, Jennie Folk, West Lawn; brother-in-law, Ted, husband of Loraine Lash, Alsace Township; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a whole family of feline companions.
The Kunkelman family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Bayada Home Health Care, Bayada Hospice and the many doctors and nurses at the Reading Hospital for their wonderful care.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Kuhn Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 5153 Kutztown Rd., Temple is in charge of arrangements.
