Thomas G. Young

Thomas G Young, 83, went to God Saturday, January 13, 2018 in Reading Hospital surrounded by the love of his entire family.

Born in Reading, he was the son of Pearl (Burnish) Young and the late George W.Young.

Tom was a graduate of Reading High School. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean Conflict.

Tom was employed by RCA for many years. In his retirement, he was a school bus driver for the BCIU. He was a member of St. Paul's R.C. Church of Reading. Tom served as a lecture and Eucharistic Minister. He volunteered as a Boy Scout Leader and Commissioner and entertained us all as an avid conversationalist.

He is survived by his devoted wife Joan R (Huard) Young, who he married November 20th 1954. In addition Tom is survived by his beloved eight children: Andrea, wife of Michael Worcheck, Bernville; Thomas, husband of Jamie Young, Perkiomenville; Mark Young, Reading; Jeffrey, husband of Sandra Young, Exeter; Robert, husband of Egda Young, Mountain Top; Renee, wife of Jodi Royer, Sinking Spring; Stephen Young and his partner Donna Marble, Reading and John Young, Reading. Two brothers; James Young and David Young, 22 grandchildren and 22 great grand children also survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 18th, 2018, at 11 a.m., in St. Paul's R.C. Church, 151 N 9th St, Reading PA 19601. Entombment will follow in Gethsemane Mausoleum. A visitation will be held the night before, Wednesday, January 17th, 2018, from 5pm to 7pm in Edward J Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading.
