Thomas I. Speck

Thomas Irvin Speck, of Mount Penn, died July 2, 2012 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Born November 22, 1947, he was a son of the late Roy and Jean (Seyler) Speck.

He was a graduate of Reading High School.

Thomas was employed as a welder with Carpenter Technology, Reading for 30 years before retiring in December, 2002.

He was an Army Veteran.

Thomas is survived by two children: Michael T. Speck of Exeter Township and Michele L. (Speck) Zurawski of Sinking Spring.

Other survivors include five siblings: Richard Speck of Hamburg; Darlene Unger of Reading; Roy Speck Jr., of Bern Township; Darren Speck of Exeter Township and Sandy Jackson of Ontelaunee Township and three half-siblings: Kenny Shealy Sr., Gloria Swierczewski and Anne Waldron.

There are also two grandchildren: Chase M. Zurawski and Alex M. Speck.

Memorial Services will be celebrated Monday at 4:00 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 North 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604.
