Thomas J. Mayernik

Thomas Joseph Mayernik, 85, passed away November 28, 2011 in his Sinking Spring residence, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Cathy J. (Froelich) Mayernik.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late John J. and Anna G. (Greytok) Mayernik.

He was a 1943 graduate of Reading High School.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps and Air Force veteran, serving in WWII and the Korean Conflict.

Tom's love of design and his creativity led him to many jobs in his lifetime including kitchen design at Halbisen Kitchens and Quaker Maid Kitchens. He also enjoyed his time working for St. Ignatius Church.

Tom was a master carpenter and loved woodworking and designing. His greatest joy was working on his home.

He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, Whitfield.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brothers: Leonard Mayernik, Hyde Park and John Mayernik, Reading. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 12 p.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola Church. A viewing will be 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the church. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, 2810 St. Albans Dr., Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Edward J.
