Thomas H. Laundra

Thomas H. Laundra, 76, of Reading, died February 6, 2008 in Manor Care, West Reading.

He was the husband of Catherine K. (Knappenberger) Laundra, Reading.

Born in Saginaw, MI on November 17, 1931, he was the son of the late Harold T and Alma C. (Schrems) Laundra.

He was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School in 1949 and earned an Associates Degree in Education from Muskegon Community College, Muskegon, MI.

He earned his apprenticeship and worked for 46 years as a patternmaker in MI and PA retiring from Haines Pattern, Lebanon in 1996. After his retirement he was a substitute teacher for BCIU for three years.

He was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing, where he served as a choir and church council member. He was also a member of the Pretzel City Barbershoppers Chorus, Reading

Thomas is also survived by a son, Christopher, husband of Elizabeth Laundra, Greenville, S.C.; a daughter, Stephanie, wife of Roger Hager, North Muskegon, MI; a step-son, Michael T., husband of Cynthia Thornburg, Reading; two step-daughters, Karen L.(Thornburg), wife of John Laundra, Runnemede, NJ and Kathleen G. (Thornburg) wife of Charles Kohler, Mohnton. Other survivors include three brothers, Charles, Saginaw, MI, John David, Runnemede, NJ, and Robert, in CA; and two sisters, Kathleen Ristau, Saginaw, MI and Margaret Bicszka, North East, Belmont, MI. Eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive him.

Thomas was predeceased by a son Anthony Laundra.

Services will be Monday at 11:00am. in Atonement Lutheran Church 5 Wyomissing Blvd. Wyomissing, PA 19610. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 9:00 to 11:00am. in the Church. Contributions may be made to Atonement Lutheran Church Music Dept. at the above address. Edward J.
