Thomas Elwood Doerrman, 88, passed away March 31, 2012 in his Flying Hills residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Jacquelyn Edith (Slemmer) Doerrman, who died July 1, 1992.
Born September 27, 1923 in Reading, he was a son of the late Julius H. and Clara J. (Deibert) Doerrman.
Thomas was employed as a dispatcher with ADT Security Systems for 17 years and as a security guard with The Reading Hospital and Medical Center for 7 1/2 years, retiring in 1988.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was very patriotic and loved his country.
Thomas was a 60 year member of St. John Lodge #435.
He was also a member of Rajah Temple Legion of Honor, a life member of West Wyomissing Fire Company and Friendship Fire Company.
Surviving are three children: David P., husband of Joyce A. Doerrman of Reading; John F., husband of Rosalie A. Doerrman of Muhlenberg Township and Tracey J. Doerrman of Flying Hills.
Other survivors include four grandchildren: Scott, husband of Jenna, Todd, Chad and Cole and a great grandson, Chase on the way.
Thomas was predeceased by six brothers, Frank, LeRoy, Ralph, Clarence, Marvin and Howard and a sister, Josephine.
Services will be Wednesday at 12 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
