THOMAS G. YEICH COUNTY DETECTIVE

Thomas Gordon Yeich, 61, of Maidencreek Township, died August 3, 2008 at 1:38 pm in the Reading Hospital, where he was taken earlier that day.

Born December 29, 1946 in West Reading, he was a loving son of Gordon R. and Sallie A. (Himmelreich) Yeich of Richmond Township.

He was a 1964 graduate of Fleetwood High School and a graduate of the Reading Police Academy.

Thomas was employed 23 years with the Reading Police Department, last working as a detective and later for 11 years in the same capacity with the Berks County District Attorney's Office as a county detective, last working Friday.

He is also survived by his daughter; Diane L. Holt of Bernville and two loving grandchildren: Stephanie and Zachery Holt, both of Bernville.

Thomas will be deeply missed by his two siblings: Kathleen J. wife of Michael Swartz of Muhlenberg Township and Steven A. husband of Tracy (Burnham) Yeich of LasVegas, Nevada and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Saturday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road., Laureldale. Viewings will be held Friday 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am until time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
