Thomas G. Cober, 91, died December 8, 2008 in the Highlands at Wyomissing.
He is survived by his wife Mary (Eslinger) Cober to whom he had been married 68 years.
Dr. Cober was born in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania on October 30, 1917. He was the son of William H. Cober and Hattie Nutt Cober.
He received his BS from California State University of Pennsylvania, his MS from the University of Pittsburgh and his Phd in EdD from Syracuse University. He was retired from IBM where he had worked for 37 years.
He was a member of the West Lawn United Methodist Church, Phi Delta Kappa, and was a 32nd degree Mason in the Round Hill Blue Lodge #533 and Kalurah Temple in Endicott, NY.
He is also survived by his daughter, Carol C., wife of William R. Reid, III of Sinking Spring. In addition he is survived by four grandchildren: Kimberly B. Cannon of Chicago, IL, Paige B. Nolte, MD, of Palmyra, VA, Kristen Tremble Christian of Boston, MA, and Josh Tremble of Silver Spring, MD. He also has five great grandchildren.
A Memorial service wil be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in West Lawn United Methodist Church followed by a luncheon in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Highlands at Wyomissing Endowment Fund, 2000 Cambridge Avenue, Wyomissing, PA 19610 or the West Lawn United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 2523 Woodside Avenue, West Lawn, PA 19609.
