Thomas Carl Haines

Thomas Carl Haines, 61, of Reading, passed away June 14, 2013 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Faye (Sovereign) Haines, NY, whom he married 14 years ago on October 10, 1998.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Carl Walter and Patricia Ann (Storey) Haines.

He was a 1969 graduate of Reading High School.

Tom was the owner of Avanti Furs, Inc., for 13 years, retiring in 2003.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Reading.

Tom was a member of the Riverside Beneficial Association.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his three children: Matthew T. Haines, Atlanta, GA; Travis W., husband of Tonya M. Haines, Whitesburg, GA and Amber E., wife of Gavin S. Ball, Moore, OK. Also surviving are his brothers: Christopher D., husband of Linda A. Haines, Duluth, GA and John S., husband of Kimberly E. Haines, Reading as well as his aunts: Eva I., widow of Gail L. Haines, Reading; Sandy, wife of Tom Henderson, Sinking Spring; Jeanne, widow of Earl Haines, Reading and his uncle, Donald, husband of Carol Storey, Media and four grandchildren: Trenton, Taylor, Tripp and Jackson.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale. Viewings will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, 1728 Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601.
