Thomas J. Campbell, 84, of Spring Township, passed away the morning of June 10, 2012, in St. Joseph Hospital.
He was the husband of Jeanette E. Campbell.
Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, he was the son of the late George and Winifred Campbell.
He was a longtime resident of Lansdale before moving to West Lawn.
He was a U.S. Marines Corps veteran.
Tom was one of the three original founders of Associated Steam Specialty Company, where he also served as a sales engineer, retiring in 2005.
He was a lifelong Catholic. It was one of the driving forces in his life. He renewed his beliefs everyday and annually would attend a weekend at the Malvern Retreat House, which he attended for over 50 years.
Tom is survived by five children: Barbara, Thomas Jr, Patricia, Michael and Dave. There is one surviving sister, Mary, wife of John Byrne, Cherry Hill, NJ. One grandson, Tim Campbell also survives him.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, A. June Campbell and also his sister Margaret (Peggy) Campbell.
Tom's favorite pastime was his music. Many people were fortunate to have received a tape or CD with one of Tom's compilations. One of his other favorites was sports. This was most evident by his starting and running of the North Penn Summer Basketball League.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Chapel of St. George in Gethsemane Cemetery, with inurnment to follow. Friends may call Thursday from 9 to 10 am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading.
