Thomas A. Balliett

Thomas A. Balliett, 66, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017, in his Muhlenberg Township residence.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia L. (Huston) Balliett, whom he married June 17, 1972.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Bachman) Balliett.

Thomas earned a master's degree from Lehigh University, where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi, an Engineering Honor Society.

He was employed as a metallurgist at Carpenter Technology, retiring after 33 years.

Thomas was a life member of the American Society of Metals, from which he received the Bradley Stoughton Award.

In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by three daughters: Tracy McEvoy, Florida; Laurie, wife of Chad Rochotte, Reading; and Amy Balliett, partner of Henry Peffer, III, Muhlenberg Township; son-in-law, Joe McEvoy, Topton, and two brothers: Robert and Scott Balliett. Seven grandchildren: Ashley Balliett, Taylor McEvoy, Ruby Rochotte, Jack Rochotte, Grey Rochotte, Lilliana Peffer and Henry Peffer, IV also survive him. He will be fondly missed by his faithful dogs, Dakota and Annabelle.

Thomas was predeceased by a brother, Fred Balliett.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., in Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 5153 Kutztown Road, Temple.
