Thomas A. Schlegel

Thomas A. Schlegel, 93, formerly of Shillington, passed away on November 15, 2011 in The Glen at Willow Valley Skilled Nursing Facility in Lancaster, PA, surrounded by loving family.

His beloved wife, Louise I. Schlegel, died October 5, 2009.

Born in Topeka, KS, he was the son of the late Levi and Gertrude (Coffey) Schlegel.

He was a proud 1940 graduate of Kansas University.

Thomas was an Electrical Engineer for 35 years for Gilbert Commonwealth retiring in 1983.

He was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

Thomas was a devoted father to his two daughters: Mary Ann Schlegel, of Lancaster, PA and Christine Marie Schlegel, of Gilmanton, NH who deeply appreciate the fortitude, work ethic, and wanderlust he inspired. They know his spirit will forever be with them on trails and mountaintops. He is also survived and admired by his beloved granddaughter, Hyla E. Howe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. John's Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
