Theresa (Vardjan) Messner, 93, of Exeter Township, passed away December 10, 2024, at Phoebe Berks Village.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Matthew and Edith (Brobst) Vardjan.
She was a 1948 graduate of Reading High School.
Theresa modeled clothing at Woolworth's Department Store, and held a position as a secretary at St. Lawrence Dairy and Wetterau Grocery.
She had a passion for entertaining, baking and cooking, a love for dancing, and the ability to type at a speed of 80 words per minute. Additionally, she was part of the St. Lawrence Dairy bowling team, where she maintained an impressive average of 180.
Theresa is survived by two daughters, Karyn L. Alam, Reading, and Jill D. Hawk, Exeter Township; three sisters: Bernice Sellers, Mechanicsburg, Vida Gerbino and Barbara Beck, both of Reading; and one brother, Kurt Lowther, Reading. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Zachary Alam and Omar Alam.
She was predeceased by two siblings: Edith Soltis and Matthew Vardjan.
Prayer Services will be Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery with inurnment to follow. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
