Theresa H. Penatzer, 87, of Wyomissing, formerly of Drexelwood, passed away March 12, 2015 in Phoebe Berks where she had resided since June 2010.

She was the beloved wife of Paul R. Penatzer, who died in 2012, whom she married 68 years ago on

September 14, 1946.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Bernard J. and Julia V. (Coyle) Hushwood.

She was a devoted wife to her husband and family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the "Light of her life." She was an avid and enthusiastic Phillies fan, regardless of their wins or losses. She had a love for flowers and an empathy for animals. Her nurturing heart was open to all and she welcomed everyone into her home.

She was a catalyst for Christ and she lovingly labored for the church, serving as a Eucharistic minister at St. Ignatius, an assistant rectora for Cursillo weekend, and she served as secretary of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. For many years she lovingly prepared the Agape bread for RCIA candidates.

Theresa is survived by her four children: Helenmarie, wife of Richard L. Fries, New Milford; Janet T., wife of Roger S. Conklin, New Milford; Paul B., husband of Barbara L. Penatzer, Orlando, FL and Julia Ann, wife of Tony Faw, Crownsville, MD. Seven grandchildren: Theresa, Rachel, Sarah, Matthew, Melissa, Tara, Ryan and seven great-grandchildren: Spencer, Gabriel, Noah, Maia, Owen, Jack and Logan survive her.

She is survived by Francis Hushwood of Audobon , Pa. And was predeceased by a sister, Bernice McClafferty.

Other survivors include many dear and close friends including: Ray and Dianne Zerbe and Patty and the late Jules Frankel.

The family would like to extend great thanks and gratitude to the staff of Phoebe Berks Nursing Center for all their wonderful care of Theresa for the last five years, specifically Deb Glovenski and Tammy Spaulding.

Since Theresa's favorite color was purple the family invites you to wear or carry something purple at her funeral mass.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 12 p.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, 2810 Saint Albans Dr Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, c/o St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church at the address above. Edward J.
