Theodore Clarence Reuther, 83, of Laureldale, died July 6, 2009 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been a patient since June 1st.
He was the husband of Ella Matilda (Tellam) Reuther, whom he married March 27, 1948.
Born in Reading, PA on October 16, 1925, he was a son of the late Theodore E. and Maude F. (Reiter) Reuther.
He was employed 39 years as a welder on the Buick line with Dana Corporation, Reading.
Theodore was a member of the Berks Camping Club.
He is also survived by three children: Dawn E., wife of Kevin Ludwig of Cumru Township, Barbara A. Spease of Laureldale and Michael A. Weister of Alsace Township.
Other survivors include five grandchildren: Eric L. Ludwig of Cumru Township, Sara J., wife of Hector Hidalgo of Colorado Springs, Rebecca A., wife of Andrew Gibney of Wyomissing, Melody Weister of Reading and Wesley R.T. Light of Philadelphia and three great grandchildren: Tanner Brugger, Farran M. Gibney and Mallaigh E. Gibney, all of Wyomissing.
There is also a nephew surviving, Robert, husband of Theresa Long of Milford, Delaware.
He was predeceased by a sister, Madeline Long.
Services will be Monday at 1:00 pm in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with the Rev. James C. Covert officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
