Theodore A. Grater

Theodore Arlington Grater, 84 of Temple died May 23, 2008 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Emma Mae (Staver) Grater, whom he married August 27, 1948.

Born February 14, 1923 in Reading he was a son of the late Theodore and Florence (Seiders) Grater.

He was a graduate of Reading High School in 1940.

Theodore was employed by Carpenter Technology, Muhlenberg Twp. for 35 years.

He served in the European Theatre in the Army during World War II.

Also surviving are two daughters: Jan Lucille (Grater), wife of Gary E. Bond of Kutztown and Beth A. (Grater), wife of Patrick Iwane of Kaneohe, HI.

In addition, there are five grandchildren: Kaimi, Ross, Laura, Emily and Steven.

Theodore was predeceased by a brother George Grater.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held an hour before services. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Belleman's Church, Centre Township.
