Theodore R. Boyer

Theodore "Ted" R. Boyer, 78, Wyomissing Hills, died April 8, 2007 in Manorcare, Sinking Spring.

He was the husband of Muriel A. (Rentschler) Boyer.

Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Kathryn E. (Lewars) Boyer.

He attended West Reading High School and was a graduate of Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute.

Boyer was a merchant marine veteran of World War II and also an Army veteran.

He had been employed as a steel fabricator for The Rose Corporation, retiring in 1990. He was also one of the founders of Fabrication Specialists and a founder of Industrial Steel Fabricators. Boyer was also employed by Penn Iron Works and Hamburg Fabricators. He was on the board of directors of Wilshire Pool and a former owner of Boyer's Chicken Farm, Red Lion, PA.

Boyer was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a horse racing fan as well as a devoted Eagles and Phillies fan.

Survivors include one son, William G., husband of Tracy Boyer, Angola, IN., and four daughters; Deborah L., wife of Claude Stabley, Dover, PA, Jeanne B., wife of Walter Katchur, Wernersville, PA, Patricia A. Smith, Wyomissing, PA, and Carolyn K., wife of Patrick Gundel, York, PA.

Other survivors include nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Friends may call Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
