Theodora Yianoulis, 85, of Shillington, passed away August 3, 2008 in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she had been a patient since June 17. Her husband, James E. Yianoulis died on August 10, 1973. Born on the island of Kos, Dodecanese, Greece, she was a daughter of the late John and Despina (Savaides) Ioannidis. Theodora graduated from a Greek/Italian high school in Kos and completed two years at a polytechnic school for fine arts in Athens, Greece.

She was employed as a seamstress by David Crystal, Inc., Reading, for 25 years, retiring in 1991.

Theodora was a devout member of SS Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church and had been an active participant in church functions. She was talented in sewing and embroidering and took great pleasure in making "yiaprakia" and pastries for her family.

Theodora was a devoted mother to Despina Yianoulis, Reading, a beloved aunt to 15 nieces and nephews, as well as 22 great nieces and nephews, and she will be sorely missed. She is survived by four siblings: Flora Pampris, Athens, NY, Gabriel Ioannidis, Maritsa Orfanoudakis and Cleopatra Diakoyiannis, all of Kos, Greece. Theodora was predeceased by three siblings: Evangelos Ioannidis, Katina Regini and Joseph (Theofrastos) Ioannidis.

Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in SS Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 E. Wyomissing Blvd. Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. and Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. Contributions may be made to SS. Constantine and Helen Geek Orthodox Church at the above address. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
