Thelma Jean (Kissinger) Straka, 78, of 2520 Penn Ave., 1st Floor, West Lawn, Pa 19609-1540 died April 21st at 9:23 p.m. in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center where she had been since April 11th.
She was married November 13, 1948 to Martin A. Straka at home.
Born in Reading she was a daughter of the late Harry A. and Catherine May (Gants) Kissinger.
She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.
Straka was a past member for over 35 years at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Reading where she served on the Holy Family Society, was a former Den Mother and a former Blue Bird Leader.
She is also survived by two daughters, Sophie A. (Straka) Orth of Reinholds, Lancaster County and Christine (Straka) Altenderfer of Spring Township.
Other survivors include three sons, Martin J. of Exeter Township, Michael C. of Sinking Spring and Carl J. of West Lawn.
Straka is also survived by two brothers, Charles Kissinger of Reiffton and Harry Kissinger of Reading.
There are seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday 9:30 am from Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield. Viewing Thursday 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
