Thelma C. Rentschler

Thelma C. Rentschler, 98, formerly of Temple died April 7, 2008 at 2:35 p.m. in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township.

She was the wife of the late Charles E. Rentschler who died June 2, 1990.

Born May 27, 1909 in Jacksonwald she was a daughter of the late Ludwig and Caroline (Levan) Strassburger.

Thelma was a graduate of The Girl's School.

She was employed by Giorgio Foods, Blandon as a secretary, retiring in 1973.

Themla was a member of Salem Shalter's Lutheran church, Alsace Township.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda J. (Rentschler), wife of Terry S. Cosentino of Wyomissing and Karen L. (Rentschler), wife of Francis A. Garitee of Temple and a son, Gerald C., husband of Juanita J. (Starkey) Rentschler of Laurel, MD.

In addition there are two grandsons and four great-grandchildren.

Thelma was predeceased by a son Alan L. Rentschler and a sister Elizabeth (Strassburger) Anderson.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with the Rev. Leslie Hand officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home. Burial will be in Schwarzwald Cemetery, Exeter Township.
