Terry Allen Herbein

Terry A. Herbein Sr., 84, formerly of West Lawn, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, in his Spring Township residence with his loving family at his side. He was the loving husband of 61 years of E. Kathryn (Thomas) Herbein.

Born in St. Lawrence, formerly known as Esterly, Terry was a son of the late Eli K. and Edith V. (Mathew) Herbein. He graduated from Reading High School in 1955.

Terry worked for over 30 years at Carpenter Technology in the steel mill, retiring in 1998.

A very kind and generous man, Terry cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. He loved traveling with his wife, Kitty, especially enjoying cruises and casino trips. Every morning he looked forward to going walking around the local malls.

Terry's memory will be forever treasured by his loving wife, Kitty; son, Terry A. Herbein Jr., of Exeter; granddaughter, Paige C. Herbein of Temple; brother, David M. Herbein (Dorothy) of West Lawn; sister, Nancy L. Smith (Larry) of Ocean View, DE; and his nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Terry was predeceased by his granddaughter, Erin Ashley Herbein, his brother, E. Kenneth Herbein, and his niece, Diane Herbein.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Terry's memory may be offered to the West Lawn United Methodist Church, at address below, or to the McGlinn Cancer Center, 420 S 5th Ave, Reading PA 19611.

Services for Terry will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Ave, Reading PA 19609, with committal services to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Shillington. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 AM until the start of services at the church.
