Terrence Robert Fick, Sr.

On Friday, August 16th, 2013, at 12:38 a.m., God sent down his Holy Angel to call home, Terrence R. Fick, Sr. who passed away after a three year long battle with cancer. He resided in Reading, Pa. all of his 72 years.

In September of 1964, he married Lana G. Fick, at Sacred Heart Church in West Reading, where the most awesome and blessed journey began. He was Blessed with a dozen children who have given him the love, joy, and sometimes "headaches", he would need to mold him into the strongest, most caring husband, father, grandfather, friend, and neighbor, he would have to become in his journey through this life on earth.

His life journey consisted of hard work to provide for the large family he and his spouse planned for; the strength he would need to get through hard times; the forgiveness he would have to learn to follow some of those hard times; the generosity he had not only for his family, but for "anyone" he knew that needed it. It consisted of lots and lots of Love that continued to grow and entwine, like a beanstalk, reaching from his life on this earth to his journey to the next.

He provided his families with enough memories and lessons to get them through "their" lives. Having such a big family, he taught his family that sacrifices had to be made and taught them the meaning of priorities. They learned from him, that family was the most important possession you can have and that everything else was just the topping on the cake.

A dear friend, at the time of his death, said it best, "the legacy, this man left as evidenced by the words of his beautiful family, is the most amazing I've ever witnessed." He will truly live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Robert Fick and Elmira (Orth) Wentzel. He is survived by his step-father, John Wentzel, who resides at Country Meadows.

He was a graduate of Reading High School.

He was employed by United Corrstack, retiring in 2006. Terrence previously worked for Birdsboro Corporation and Brown's Trailers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by twelve children: Terrence R. Fick, Jr., significant other to Kelly McCauley; Peter A. Fick, husband of Jen; Nicholas Fick, significant other to Saleena Eckert; John R. Fick, husband of Kara; Melissa A. Sealie; Candace L., wife of Scott Reinert; Wendie L. Fick; Tammy L., wife of Shawn Varghaizadeh; Christie Fick; Mandy, wife of Ian Stewart; Brandi L. Fick, significant other to Gary Koch; and Kari Fick.

He was one of six children: Bobby, who passed, husband of Sharon Fick; Patricia, widow of Paul Hacker; Christine, wife of Raymond Leukus; Barbara, widow of Ken Howard; Yvonne, wife of Ken Reich. Other survivors include, two sisters-in-law, Cheryl, wife of William Tobias and Robin Flowers, significant other to Gene Bujnovsky; twenty-one grandchildren and five great grandchildren along with many nephews and nieces.
