Sylvia C. Swoboda

Sylvia C. (Manno) Swoboda, 97, formerly of West Reading, died November 14, 2012, in Berkshire Center.

Her husband, Joseph A. Swoboda, died October 12, 2002.

Born in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Rose (Lantz) Manno.

She was a 1933 graduate of Kane High School.

Sylvia was a secretary for 26 years for CNA Insurance, retiring on September 30, 1985.

She is survived by two daughters, Sylvia M. (Swoboda) Oldham and Rose M. (Swoboda) Hobbs, both of Reading; three siblings, Gene Manno, Palm Coast, FL, Virginia Manno and Eulalia (Manno) Feikls, both of Kane; two grandchildren, Heather Hobbs and Joe Taylor and three great-grandchildren.

Sylvia was predeceased by two siblings, Samuel Manno and Ann Manno.

Services will be private in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be private in Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Arthritis Foundation, 111 South Independence Mall East, Suite 500 Bourse Building, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
