Stuart H. Shoemaker

Stuart H. Shoemaker, 92, died May 12, 2008 in his Muhlenberg Township residence.

He was the husband of Mary R. (Hoffman) Shoemaker who died May 17, 2006.

Born October 14, 1915 in Muhlenberg Township, he was a son of the late Oscar and Ida (Long) Shoemaker.

Stuart was employed as a reactor operator for Glidden Company for 27 years, retiring in 1978.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He is survived by a son, Douglass A. Shoemaker of Centerport, and a step-daughter Nancy, wife of Charles Logue of Las Vegas, NV.

He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 step granchildren 3 great-granchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister, Ruth (Shoemaker) Bair.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
