Stewart S. Kaucher

Stewart S. Kaucher, Jr., 72, of Wyomissing, passed away December 9, 2014 in Spruce Manor.

He was the husband of Carol J. (George) Kaucher.

Born February 13, 1942 in Reading, he was a son of the late Stewart S., Sr., and Pearl (Morgan) Kaucher.

He was a 1960 graduate of Reading High School and a graduate of Reading Police Academy.

Stewart was a police officer for the Reading area for 23 years, retiring in 1990. He was last employed at Muhlenberg Walk-In Bingo for the past 5 years.

He was a member of Wyomissing Church of the Brethren.

Stewart was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam in the Army Corps of Engineers.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his three children: Shawn E. Kaucher, West Reading; Sherry Kaucher, Reading; and Sheila O'Reilly, Shamokin. Also surviving are his brother, Charles J. Kaucher, Shoemakersville; and his five grandchildren: Elyssa, Matthew, Jordan, Gabriel, and Arianna.

Stewart was predeceased by his brother, Robert Rohrbach, and his sister, Jacqueline Hoy.

Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be held from 12 to 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
