Steward J. Meinhart

Steward John Meinhart Sr., 92, born in Willow Grove, PA, passed away on June 23, 2015 at the Wyomissing Health and Rehabilitation Center where he had been a resident for 6 days.

He was the husband of late Rosanna Weikert Meinhart.

At the age of 17, he enlisted into the United States Army. There he served as a Medic behind enemy lines during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment.

Upon retiring, after 20 years of service for his country, he was employed by the U.S. National Park Service at the Gettysburg National Cemetery as a heavy equipment operator for 15 years

He is survived by his son, Steward John Jr., husband of Elaine M. Meinhart, Wyomissing and his grandson, Judson Steward, husband of Lisa Ann Meinhart, West Reading.

Steward is predeceased by his seven siblings.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11 AM at Evergreen Cemetery 799 Baltimore St, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Online condolence may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com
