Steven Craig Mengel

Steven C. Mengel, 63, of Perry Township, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospice. Born in Reading, he was the son of James G. and Barbara A. (Yeager) Mengel.

Steve was a 1979 graduate of Hamburg Area High School, and was employed by Deka Battery for 41 years until his retirement in April 2023.

Steve's interests included antiques, blacksmithing, travel, especially to Colonial Williamsburg, and playing board games with his granddaughters.

Loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Steve leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Arlene, of Hamburg; daughter, Cathleen Mengel, wife of Uulia Kayani, of Bear, DE; granddaughters, GraceAnn and Addilynn Kayani; and brothers, Brian Mengel, husband of Tracy, of Milford, DE and Chris Mengel, husband of Karen, of Leesport. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Steve's life will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, 40 S. 4th Street, Hamburg, with a visitation from 2-5pm and a service at 5pm.
