Steven D. Mcknight

Steven D. McKnight, 57 of Laureldale, died August 8, 2009 in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Carolyn M. (Hettinger) McKnight, whom he married March 13, 1987.

Born August 27, 1951 in Norristown, Bucks County, he was a son of C. William McKnight, a resident at Berks Heim and Ruth (Hoffecker) McKnight of Reading.

There is also a son, Tyler S. McKnight of Laureldale and a step daughter, April L. Fowler of Temple.

In addition, there is a sister Barbara (McKnight) Bortz of Aurora, Colorado.

There are two grandchildren, Chandler and Nina.

Steve was predeceased by a brother Andrew McKnight.

Steve was a graduate of Wilson High School and attended Berks Vo-Tech-West for welding.

He was employed as a signal maintainer for Norfolk Southern Railroad.

He was a member of Brotherhood of Railraod Signal Men and Central Fire Company.

Steven served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m.in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services.

Steve died doing what he loved, riding his Harley.
