Sterling H. Lutz, also known as "Super Squirrel" 82 of Hamburg died in the Laurel Center, Tilden Township June 24, 2012. He was the husband of Elizabeth M. (James) Lutz . Sterling was born in Tilden Township and was the son of the late Earl D. and Edith M. (Henn) Lutz. Sterling worked as a knitter and mechanic for Windsor Knitting Mill for 46 years retiring in 1994. He was an army veteran of the Korean War and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hamburg. In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 sons, Michael Earl Lutz and David Allen Lutz, both of Hamburg, step children, Kenneth Ray James, Perry Township, Lois Ann Berg, Leesport and Bonnie Lee Correll, Tilden Township, step grandchildren, Dawn Tilden, Alan Hartman 2nd and Brandon Berg and 4 step great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Darlene L. Dietrich, Windsor Township and a brother, Richard A. Lutz, Hamburg. Sterling was predeceased by 3 step grandchildren, Ashley and Bradley Correll and Troy Hartman. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. Hamburg. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery with military honors provided by Ray Master Post 217, Topton.
