Stephen I. Stupak

Stephen I. Stupak, 82, of Sinking Spring, passed away June 12, 2014 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Lucille C. (Phillips) Stupak, whom he married 59 years ago on April 16, 1955.

Born June 12, 1932 in Allentown, he was a son of the late Stephen A. and Helen (Sugra) Stupak.

Stephen was a 1950 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and a 1958 graduate of Muhlenberg College.

He was a salesman for the National Gypsum Company, retiring in 1990.

Stephen was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, Whitfield.

He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran.

Stephen was an avid golfer. He was a loving husband and father and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Timothy S., husband of Michelle S. Stupak, Bensalem. Also surviving is his brother, Joseph C. Stupak, companion of Genevieve Lanski, Northampton; and his son-in-law, Timothy P. Boylan, Sinking Spring. Four grandchildren: Timothy P., husband of Barrie Boylan; Nicholas, husband of Amanda Boylan; Kathryn Boylan; and Rachel Boylan; and two great-grandchildren: Benjamin and Sylvi also survive him.

Stephen was predeceased by his daughter, Susan M. Boylan, and his sister, Jacqueline Benkovic.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, 2810 St Albans Dr, Sinking Spring. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Flowers are welcome and contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
