Stephen Aloysius Krupa

Stephen Aloysius Krupa, 86, of Wyomissing, passed away February 20, 2023, at the Reading Hospital.

Born in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Stephen A. and Agnes (Mravec) Krupa.

He was a graduate of Xavier University and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army after 20 years of service, including two tours of service in Vietnam as well as service at the American Embassy in Brazil, NORAD, and the Pentagon.  Steve received numerous awards, including the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star.  After his military service, Steve enjoyed a successful career in banking.

Steve had an indomitable spirit and quick wit. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Church and a Red Cross Bloodmobile volunteer. He was adored by his grandchildren and was a favorite uncle. He gave huge, nourishing hugs followed by a smile and a chuckle.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen (Baum) Krupa; and brothers: Richard, Frank, Michael and John.

He is survived by four children: Mark J., husband of Robyn Krupa, Deland, FL; Ronald S., husband of Paula Krupa, Bradenton, FL; Susan M., wife of Ned Kotula, Wyomissing; and Eric R., husband of Melissa Krupa, Safety Harbor, FL; one brother, Tom Krupa, Peoria, IL; one sister-in-law Cheryl Krupa, Northbrook, IL; and eight grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 10, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart R. C. Church, 701 Franklin St., West Reading. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
