Stephen M. Hudock, 82, of West Wyomissing, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the Reading Hospital January 7, 2008 where he had been a patient since January 1, 2008.
He was the husband of Marie (Woytek) Hudock who in August celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary.
Born in Stockton, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Mitcho) Hudock.
Stephen worked at AT&T as a utility operator for 22 years until retiring in 1987.
During WWII, he served in the United States Army as a PFC in the 423 Regiment and 106 Infantry Division during 1943-1945. He was also a Prisoner of War, captured during the Battle of the Bulge.
Surviving are a son Stephen M. Hudock Jr., Wyomissing, and two daughters Linda J. wife of Franklin L. Lorah, Jr., Muhlenberg Township, and Mary Sue wife of John Gibson, Sinking Spring.
He is also survived by a brother Thomas husband of Lois Hudock, Oakdale, and four grandchildren Cynthia Foraker, Albert Gibson, Stephanie Lorah, Justine Marie Hudock, and three great grandchildren Rylan Foraker, Ewan Foraker, and Corbin Foraker.
Stephen is predeceased by a grandson Jeffrey Lorah, who passed away on December 27, 2007.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 am. in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading. Burial will be held in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Friends may call Thursday between 8:00-9:30am. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Ave. West Reading, PA 19611.
