Stephen William Goerner

Stephen William Goerner, 58, died June 26, 2014 in his Muhlenberg Township residence.

Born May 8, 1956 in Reading, he was a son of Elinor L. (Klein) Goerner of Muhlenberg Township and the late George F. Goerner, Sr.

Steve was a 1974 graduate of Central Catholic High School and attended what is now Universal Technical Institute.

He was previously employed by Andretti Motorsports until he was involved in a disabling motorcycle accident. He was then employed by Pocono Raceway as a flagman by Weekend Roadrace Series.

A true lover of motorcycles, Steve was an active life member and past trustee of Reading Morotcycle Club, Oley, PA.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his seven siblings: Margaret C., wife of Ronald J. Santo of Mechanicsburg; Regina A., wife of Harold P. Ohlinger of Wernersville; MaryJo F., wife of Timothy S. Ray, Sr. of Cumru Township; Robert J., wife of Sherry L. Goerner of Myerstown; Thomas M. Goerner of Womelsdorf; Michael P., husband of Donna M. Goerner of Pottsville and Joseph P., husband of Theresa M. Goerner of Hamburg.

Other survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

Stephen was predeceased by his brother, George F. Goerner, Jr. who died June 9, 2014.

Services will be Sunday at 8 p.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held from 5-8 p.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
