Stephanie Marie Twyman, 48, of Reading, PA, passed away on December 3, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 5, 1976, Stephanie was the beloved daughter of Constance (Sychterz) Twyman and the late Kab M. Twyman.
Stephanie was predeceased by her husband, Carnell Talford, with whom she shared a cherished son, Cornell Josef Talford, age 14. She is also survived by her loving brothers, Shawn M. Twyman of Vermont, Brian S. Twyman, and Christopher J. Twyman of Reading, PA as well as her half-brother, Tyrone Jones of Illinois. Stephanie was also a loving stepmom, aunt, cousin, and niece to too many to name but never too many to love.
A graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School (Class of 1993), Stephanie excelled in sports, particularly field hockey, track, and basketball. Her high school years were highlighted by being crowned homecoming queen—a fitting recognition for someone with the light and energy of a natural leader.
Stephanie worked for years as a waitress at the Bowl Grille in Exeter, where she was treasured. Her infectious personality and quick wit earned her countless friendships. Known for her selflessness, kindness, and endless optimism, Stephanie had a way of making everyone feel cared for and seen.
She loved cooking for everyone, and her home was always a warm and welcoming place for friends and family. Stephanie cherished time with her loved ones, whether it was relaxing on the beach, enjoying family vacations to New Jersey, Delaware, and Florida, or teaming up with her mom as her "partner in crime" for everyday adventures like shopping or caring for her many nieces and nephews.
Stephanie's greatest joy was her son Cornell. She loved watching him spend time with his cousins as well compete on the basketball court as a member of the Penn Playmakers. She was his biggest fan and greatest source of encouragement, the perfect mix of unconditional love and unshakable belief in his potential.
Known for her beauty, confidence, and sense of humor, Stephanie had an extraordinary ability to light up every room she entered. She was hardworking, funny, endlessly positive, and the best mom, auntie, sister, niece, and cousin anyone could ask for. She lived her life full of love, laughter, and generosity—always putting others first and inspiring those around her with her strength and grace even through the difficult years of her illness.
Stephanie's absence leaves an unfillable void, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
A celebration of Stephanie's life will be held on December 22, 2024 from 2 – 4 PM at Kuhn Funeral Home in Temple (5153 Kutztown Road). In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to support Cornell's future endeavors or through acts of kindness and love to honor Stephanie's memory.
