Stella Nowotarski, 87, of Exeter Township, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Laureldale Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widower of Frederick J. Nowotarski, Sr. in 2014. They shared over 54 wonderful years together.
Born in the Province of Bialystok, Poland, where she lived her first years during WWII. She was the daughter of the late Stanislaw Wisniewski and Anna (Romotowski) Lesinski. Stella graduated from high school in Poland before emigrating to the United States in 1958.
Stella was a gifted seamstress at Madera's Dress Shop, Stowe, PA and The Heather Shop, Reading, PA finishing her career as a sales associate at Talbot's, Wyomissing, PA. She was proud to have customers from as far as Hawaii who admired her and respected her craftsmanship. She retired in 2002.
Stella, besides loving to sew, loved her family. She was proud of her Polish heritage and enjoyed cooking for her family the great Polish dishes. She was a member of the Polish-American Heritage Association of Berks County and attended many dances, picnics, and marching in the annual Polish parade in Philadelphia. She was passionate about her gardens. She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Reading, prior to St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.
Left to treasure her memory are her children, Patricia Kuhn (Joel) of Aldan and Frederick J. Nowotarski Jr. (Kathryn) of Exeter Township; grandchildren Melissa Bialas (Eric), Katherine Wheaton (Kyle), and Anna Nowotarski; great- grandchildren Ella, Cora, Hope, Harper, Tommy, and Luke, and siblings Barbara Kurtz, Halina Mylynarczyk, and Bogda Stavarski. She is predeceased by her parents, stepfather, her husband, two brothers, and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends may gather beginning at 10 AM.
