Stella M. Gajewski

Stella M. Gajewski, 98, passed away in the care of Berks Heim on Saturday, October 3, 2026. She was the widow of Theodore Gajewski, who passed away in 2000.

Born in Reading to the late Anthony and Anna (Ogorzalek) Fura, Stella was a loving and active mother and grandmother. She cultivated precious memories, full of laughter and cherished traditions, with her family and friends.

She was a dedicated, hardworking, and conscientious person whose career spanned many years at Vanity Fair. She also worked as a lunch lady at Governor Mifflin School District in addition to working at Howard C. Mohn Hosiery in Reading.

She was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle and previously belonged to St. Anthony's.
Left to treasure her memory are her sons, David Gajewski, husband of Marilyn, of Sinking Spring, and Robert Gajewski of Reading; grandchildren: Tracy Jablonski, Jamie Gajewski, Anthony Gajewski, Dr. Eric Gajewski, Jessica Gajewski, and Melissa Gajewski; great-grandchildren: Alex, Zachary, Jacob, Nikolas, Vanessa, and Evan; brother, Thomas Fura, husband of Jadwiga; as well as her nieces, nephews, and their families.

In addition to her husband, Theodore, and her parents, Anthony and Anna, she was predeceased by her siblings: Frank Fura, Julian Fura, Bernice Pleva, and Josephine Mulutzie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Baptist de la Salle, 42 Kerrick Rd, Shillington, PA 19607, with committal to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Reading. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the start of Mass. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., is entrusted with arrangements.
