Stella Boyer

Stella (Ohlinger) Boyer, 85, formerly of 81 West Wessner Road, (Maidencreek Township), died June 1st at 2:40 pm in St. Joseph Medical Center where she had been since May 25th.

She was taken there from Kutztown Manor where she had been a resident since October 2001.

Boyer was the widower of Arthur E. Boyer who died September 28, 1960.

Born in Rosedale, Muhlenberg Township, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Katie (Delp) Ohlinger.

She worked as a laborer at Penn Optical Company, Reading for 20 years until her retirement in 1977.

Boyer is survived by a son, Russell C. Boyer of Maidencreek Township and two daughters; Edith (Boyer) Hoff of Hyde Park and Shirley (Boyer) Bechtel of Altus, Oklahoma.

She is also survived by two brothers, Henry Ohlinger and LeRoy Ohlinger both of Ruscombmanor Township.

Other survivors include five sisters; Emma (Ohlinger) Noll of Muhlenberg Township, Sadie Ohlinger of Fleetwood, Dorothy (Ohlinger) Poper of Reading, Anna (Ohlinger) Eschbach of Blandon and Catherine (Ohlinger) Wanner of Kutztown.

There are nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Esther (Ohlinger) Seyler and four brothers; John, Irvin, Clarence and George.

Services will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Viewing 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial in Pricetown Cemetery, Ruscombmanor Township.
