Stanley H. Stankiewicz

Stanley H. "Sonny" Stankiewicz, Jr., 72, of West Reading, died November 19, 2006 in Reading Hospital, where he had been since October 29.

He was the husband of Michelina "Mickey" (Ciervo) Stankiewicz.

Born in Reading he was the son of the late Stanley H., Sr. and Carmello (Motta) Stankiewicz.

He was a barber for Al Ciervo Barber Ship, Reading for 40 years retiring in 1996. Stanley was a bartender for both Galen Hall Restaurant and Chef Alan's Restaurant. He was also employed by St. Lawrence Medical Center in Maintenance for 15 years retiring in 2000.

Stanley was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, West Reading.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army of the Korean War.

There are two daughters, Denise (Stankiewicz) Eckenroth, Wyomissing and Diana Stankiewicz, West Reading and one son, Zachary J. Bleiler, at home. Other survivors include two brothers, John Stankiewicz, Birdsboro and Raymond Stankiewicz, Mohnton. Five grandchildren, Jeremy Hoffecker, Christopher Hoffecker, Sean Eckenroth, Ryan O'Neil and Nicholas O'Neil also survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. John Baptist de la Salle R.C.Church, Shillington. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 8 to 9 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. www.kuhnfuneralhome.com
